Todd participated in CARICOM-Japan Ministerial Meeting

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hugh Todd, on Friday participated in the 8th CARICOM-Japan Ministerial Meeting held in Tokyo, Japan.

During the forum, Ministers of Foreign Affairs of CARICOM, engaged with Takeshi Iwaya, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, to enhance the Japan-CARICOM relations at the bilateral and multilateral levels. A release from the ministry said that the Ministers also explored strengthening partnerships in areas including climate change, financing for development, and nuclear disarmament. Todd, during his intervention, highlighted the value of international cooperation and collaboration with third states and CARICOM countries to advance areas of mutual interest in the various regional and multilateral for a, the release said.

Todd also witnessed the signing of United Nations Industrial Organization (UNIDO)- Japan Overseas Development Assistance for CARICOM countries.
