Taxi driver who died at police station had ‘massive’ heart attack – autopsy

Bryan Lychcott

Bryan Lychcott, 62, of Lot 2589 Kaikan Street, North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, who collapsed and died at the Alberttown police station after being arrested on Monday, had suffered a heart attack.

This is according to Government Pathologist, Dr Nehaul Singh, who performed a post-mortem examination on the deceased.

Bryan’s sister, Yonette Lychcott of Lot 104 Meadow Brook Gardens, Georgetown, told Stabroek News that before Bryan’s death, his wife related to her that he was vomiting on Sunday night. She said that her brother operates a taxi from “Sunday to Sunday” and she would constantly plead with him to take a day off because of his age. “He should not be working like how he used to before.” Yonette disclosed that Bryan started working as taxi driver when he retired from the army. She also related that her brother does not drink, but would feel dizzy often.
