(Trinidad Express) Barrackpore contractor was shot dead at a friend’s house before daybreak on Tuesday morning.
Deonarine Mahase, of Sieunarine Trace, Khanhai Road South, was killed at Wilson Road.
Police were alerted around 5.30 a.m. about the shooting.
Officers of the Barrackpore Police Station responded and were told that minutes earlier, Mahase was walking to his vehicle that was parked on the roadway when a gunman clad in dark clothing and a hat confronted him.
Mahase was shot several times and the killer ran off and escaped.
The contractor died at the scene.
Barrackpore police and detectives of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations of Region Three are continuing investigations.
