-sub committee to investigate complaints, various penalties set out
Public Works Minister Juan Edghill on Wednesday tabled the Engineers Bill 2024 in the National Assembly.
The proposed legislation aims to provide for the registration, licensing, administration, and disciplining of professional engineers while fostering professional integrity and protecting public interests.
It comes in the fifth year of this government’s term and it is unclear when it will be debated. PPP/C governments had promised such legislation for years amid concerns that unqualified persons were engaged in works that required engineering expertise.
