Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo, during his weekly press briefing, yesterday provided an update on the government’s ongoing cash grant distribution initiative where $100,000 will be provided to all persons 18 and older.
In Region Four, more than 221,000 individuals have been registered, and 156,000 have been verified as part of the grant distribution exercise. Jagdeo emphasised that, despite the smooth registration, a thorough database verification process is required before cheques are printed and distributed. He noted that the Ministry of Finance and other government agencies are working diligently to ensure accuracy in this crucial phase.
