Sheldon Lynch, who was sentenced to three life terms for raping a 10-year-old girl on multiple occasions, has been granted a retrial by the Guyana Court of Appeal.
The decision was issued on Friday by a panel comprising Acting Chancellor of the Judiciary Yonette Cummings-Edwards, Justice of Appeal Dawn Gregory and Justice Rishi Persaud.
Lynch was convicted in 2016 and 2018 for sexually assaulting the child between December 2010 and November 2011.
