Back Circle A & B as well as Team Cruel earned advanced to the next round in the Kashif and Shanghai National Futsal Championship following contrasting wins last night at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue.
Back Circle A mauled Vryheid’s Lust 16-0. The contest was a continuation of their match from Thursday night which was abandoned owing to blackout at the venue which is without a back-up power supply. At the time of the stoppage, Back Circle was in control at 2-0. Efforts to solicit a comment from the tournament organizers, the Kashif and Shanghai Organization, on the contingencies plan if such an event was to reoccur more proved futile.
Meanwhile, Bevney Marks recorded a mammoth nine conversions in the second, fifth, seventh, 15th, 24th, 25th, 27th, 28th, and 30th minutes. Supporting with a hat-trick was Darren Benjamin in the third, 22nd, and 29th minute, while Stephon Reynolds recorded a double in the 24th and 26th.
