The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) B and Fruta Conquerors tallied hard-fought wins when the ‘Maid Marian Wheat Up’ Women’s Football Championship continued yesterday at the National Training Centre, Providence.
GDF B squeaked past the Lady Jaguars U17 by a 1-0 score. Anastasia Horsham recorded the only conversion of the contest in the eighth minute. Likewise, Fruta Conquerors bested Herstelling Raiders by the identical score. Fiona Gibbs amassed the only goal of the contest in the 42nd minute.
Meanwhile, GDF B also defeated Santos/Vengy via walkover after the latter failed to take the playing area at the stipulated time by the officials. Similarly, GPF A defeated GT Kanaimas in the identical manner following the latter’s absence from the venue.
On the other hand, the slated fixture between GT Kanaimas and Santos/Vengy was ruled a no-contest following the absence of both teams.
