There is a widespread consensus that the people of Mahdia are unsure where to turn for assistance, with both the government and social service agencies failing to provide timely and effective help.
The town’s struggles with child sexual abuse, teenage pregnancy, and inadequate welfare services have intensified in recent years, as local residents express frustration over the slow pace of responses and the seeming indifference of authorities.
