Contract signed for $239.6m wharf at Mazaruni Prison

The Ministry of Home Affairs yesterday signed a contract for a $239.6m wharf at the Mazaruni Prison.

A release from the ministry said that this was among four contracts signed.

The signing ceremony took place at the office of the Permanent Secretary,  Andre Ally, and was attended by staff from the Ministry’s Project Unit and representatives of the contracting companies.

Rehabilitation of Female Officers’ Living Quarters, Ground Floor, Eve Leary

Contract Sum: $14,900,600

Contractor: Studio 4 Investment

Construction of Wharf at Mazaruni Prison

Contract Sum: $239,638,980

Contractor: Blueprint Buildings Inc.

Rehabilitation of Infirmary Building at Mazaruni Prison, Region 7

Contract Sum: $73,516,745

Contractor: Gryphon Engineering Inc.

Rehabilitation of Existing Kitchen at Mazaruni, Region 7

Contract Sum: $69,769,770

Contractor: GS Contracting & General Supplies

The release said that Ally, expressed his confidence in the expertise and reliability of the selected contractors, urging them to complete the projects on schedule. He emphasized that these projects align with the Ministry’s overarching goal of fortifying the nation’s security infrastructure.
