Soup vendor remanded over jewels, $$ heist in Lodge

A soup vendor appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court yesterday charged with armed robbery.

It is alleged that Peter Thompson on Tuesday November 12, at Lot 32 D’Urban Street, Lodge, Georgetown, while in the company of another and armed with a gun, robbed Adelle David of six gold rings valued $632,500, two gold chains valued $870,000, one ankle chain valued $150,000, one gold wrist band valued $2,990, and $1,990,000 cash totalling  $3,415,490.

Thompson was not required to plead to this charge.
