Winners Connection will oppose Milerock while Botofago will battle Capital FC in the semifinal round following quarterfinal wins in the Upper Demerara Football Association National Futsal Championship on Thursday evening at the Retrieve Hard-court in Linden.
Winners Connection dismantled Silver Shattas by a 4-1 score. Akeem Caesar led the win with a brace while Jamal Layne and Anthony Reynolds netted one goal, respectively.
For the loser, Damion Williams recorded a consolation goal.
On the other hand, Milerock bested Topp XX by a 4-2 score. The quartet of Colwyn Drakes, Mickel Jeffers, Neal Kennedy, and Allan Halley scored one goal, respectively. On the other side, the duo of Jamal Caster and Marcus Forde tallied one conversion apiece.
Meanwhile, Capital FC grounded Hi-Stars 4-1 to seal their place in the final four. Isaiah Adams bagged a brace in the rout, while Mortimer Giddings and Devonte Tappin scored one goal, respectively.
For the loser, Clinton Charles netted. Their impending opponent, Botofago dismantled Rockstone 4-1. Donovan Francis found the back of the net twice while Malachi Todd and Amoniki Buntin netted one goal apiece.
For the loser, Alex and Albert Gonzalez scored one goal, respectively. The action resumes on Wednesday night as teams continue to battle for a spot in the grand finale, scheduled for New Year’s Day, January 1, 2025.
The winner of the tournament, which concludes on January 1st, 2025, at the same venue, will walk away with $1,000,000 and the championship, while the second, third, and fourth place finishers will pocket $500,000, $200,000, and $100,000, respectively, and the corresponding accolade.
