A 22-year-old man died after being allegedly stabbed by a 31-year-old mechanic of North Sophia Squatting Area, George-town at about 8 pm on Friday on the southern side of the Liliendaal Railway Embankment.
Dead is Saif Ally, a resident of Lot 22 Block ‘R’, North Sophia, George-town. The incident, according to the suspect’s father started because Ally stabbed him.
The suspect’s father, Christopher Julian Sahoye, a 58-year-old labourer of North Sophia Squatting Area, told the police that on Friday night, he was standing in an ‘alleyway’ west of his house, when Ally who was known to him for several years, approached him and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. The man said that Ally, without provocation, slapped him several times across the face.
