The Guyana Boxing Association (GBA) has appointed veteran sports enthusiast and politician Odinga Lumumba to the post of advisor.
This was disclosed by a press release from the entity. According to the correspondence, the decision to appoint Lumumba to that role was taken by the GBA following an assessment process.
Lumumba, as a boxing promoter, advised both Andrew Murray and Anthony `The Pearl` Andrews to world title challenges and was also named the World Boxing Association (WBA) Latin America Promoter of the Year in 1995. He will commence his tenure on January 1st, 2025. The release did not state the length of his appointment.
