Kwakwani Park man held with 136 lbs marijuana – police

At approximately 00:44 hrs this morning, acting on information received, police ranks proceeded to Craig (Grand Scheme), East Bank Demerara, where they intercepted a white Toyota 212 motor car bearing registration number PRR 2536, carrying six bulky parcels of marijuana which, when weighed, amounted to 62 kilogrammes (136.687 lbs).

GPHC says has seen over 60,000 patients this year

By Milton Grannum The Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) yesterday lauded its achievements during the year,  noting that over 60,000 patients were seen and groundbreaking interventions done but it is still in need of at least 700 nurses and more beds to perform at its best.

Milerock, Botofago to battle for UDFA Futsal crown

Defending champion Milerock and Botofago will contest the final of the Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA) Futsal Championship tomorrow following semifinal wins on Sunday evening at the Retrieve Tarmac in Linden.  In the first semifinal, Milerock disconnected Winners Connection 9-3.
