Top Cop, Deputy Commissioners meet with SWAT Unit

Commissioner of Police, Clifton Hicken, along with Deputy Commissioners Ravindradat Budhram and Errol Watts, yesterday met with the officer in charge and ranks of the Force’s Special Weapons and Tactics Unit (SWAT) at the Commissioner’s Conference Room, Eve Leary.

A release from the police said that the primary focus of the meeting was to discuss the yearly development plan for the SWAT Unit, which included comprehensive training and strategic goals.

According to the release, the Commissioner and members of his Executive Leadership Team reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that the SWAT Unit remains highly skilled, well-prepared, and capable of responding to any challenges effectively.

Through continued investment in training and resources, the unit is set to make an even greater impact in the protection of our communities.

The meeting further highlighted the Force’s dedication to building a professional, disciplined and responsive unit that can meet the evolving needs of the nation, the release added.
