Two brothers, Wayne Forde and Sheldon Forde, of Green Street, Werk-en-Rust, were remanded to prison yesterday after repeated instances of disorderly conduct, both in and outside the courtroom.
The siblings appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court, where they were charged with using abusive language. Both pleaded not guilty and were initially granted bail of $10,000 each, along with instructions to maintain the peace.
However, shortly after leaving the courtroom, the brothers began hurling insults at each other, escalating into a physical altercation on Brickdam. The incident disrupted traffic and attracted public attention. Sheldon Forde was seen pushing Wayne Forde during the confrontation, which continued as they made their way to the police station.
Prosecutor reports indicated that the men persisted in their unruly behaviour while at the station. Later, during a subsequent court appearance, the brothers engaged in a heated argument in front of Magistrate McGusty, despite being warned to maintain order.
Following their repeated disobedience, Magistrate McGusty revoked their bail and remanded both men to prison until January 24, 2025.
