Counsel for Dion Bascom yesterday denied that he had issued an apology to businessman Azruddin Mohamed over allegations surrounding the killing of Ricardo Fagundes outside of Palm Court in 2021.
Bascom’s lawyer, Nigel Hughes in a statement referred to an article in yesterday’s Kaieteur News headlined “Mohameds drops lawsuit after Sgt Bascom apologizes over murder.”
“Sgt Dion Bascom did not issue any apology whether oral or written to Mr. Azruddin Mohamed.
“The civil suit was discontinued by Counsel for Mr. Azruddin without any apology or compromise on the part of Dion Bascom”, Hughes said.
Bascom’s allegations had triggered a furore and ultimately produced no result.
