The Strathspey Nursery School is expected to benefit from a new street that was once an alleyway.
Residents, teachers and parents welcomed the initiative and explained that it was a narrow pathway which served as an alternative entrance and is situated at the northern side of Strathspey Primary School. The school’s main entrance is linked to the Strathspey Primary School’s compound which is also accompanied by a walkway.
Students will continue to have uninterrupted access to the nursery school, allowing them to enjoy their daily routines without inconvenience while construction is ongoing.
A teacher told Stabroek News yesterday that the alleyway was used as an alternative entrance to access the school. The alleyway was very narrow and could only facilitate one parent and one student at a time. With the expansion, many parents and students can traverse the street at once.
Construction began on Friday and is moving apace.
