Dear Editor,
There are quite a few old-age pensioners who have not yet received their 2025 pension book.
The few that I know of were with the same group on the 12th and 13th of December at the G3 tarmac in Diamond on the East Bank of Demerara where I received my book.
They were told that their books were not yet available and a contact number was taken from them, the pensioners.
Today is the 7th of January and no word from here nor there was heard about when they would be granted their books.
I would like for the relevant authorities to take note, as it would seem that these poor souls are not important enough to be processed with alacrity.
I would not go further in asking that these relevant people in authority take a few minutes and live in the shoes of some of these people.
Could the Human Services’ authority responsible for this debacle clarify the present status of these delayed books for the waiting pensioners.
Please let them know when and where they will uplift the books.
