Stuart Young in limbo as PNM MPs refuse to sign Trinidad PM ‘endorsement’ letter

(Trinidad Guardian) Days after Stuart Young was chosen as Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley’s successor at a parliamentary retreat in Tobago, he is now in limbo, as several MPs who were in that caucus are said to now be refusing to endorse him on a document indicating he will have majority support in the House of Representatives when Rowley eventually steps down.

Fire service HQ commissioned

-40 rapid intervention vehicles handed over Forty Rapid Intervention Vehicles (RIVs) from Angloco – a fire-fighting & rescue vehicle manufacturer out of the United Kingdom – were yesterday handed over to the Guyana Fire Service (GFS) and at least one would be given to each Regional Democratic Council (RDC).

US EXIM Chair to visit

American teen drowns during outing with family at Linden

An American teen who had travelled to Guyana to celebrate his birthday, drowned during an outing with family on Boxing Day in the Demerara River at Linden The post-mortem conducted by Government Pathologist, Nehaul Singh, on December 30, gave the cause of death of Demarius Payne, an 18-year-old college student from Atlanta, Georgia, United States and Wismar, Linden, as drowning.

Chevron confident of Hess merger
