Aubrey Norton, Leader of the People’s National Congress (PNCR), has called on the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) government to live up to its promises and deliver tangible improvements to the lives of the Guyanese people in this year’s imminent national budget.
Norton, at his party’s weekly press conference on Friday, criticized the government for what he said was its failure to provide essential services, despite the country’s growing wealth fuelled by oil revenues.
He said that while the government repeatedly speaks about the country’s rising wealth, many Guyanese citizens still struggle with basic needs like clean drinking water, consistent electricity, and affordable food.
