With this year’s National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) fast approaching, Minister of Educa-tion, Priya Manickchand, accompanied by Chief Education Officer Saddam Hussain, Deputy Chief Education Officer (Exami-nations) Ameer Ali, and other senior ministry officials, held a virtual meeting on Monday with over 700 teachers nationwide to discuss NGSA 2025, a Ministry of Education release stated yesterday.
The virtual gathering of teachers included those from remote areas such as Konashen and Tiger Pond in Region Nine, and Monkey Mountain in Region Eight.
According to the release, the session focussed on the analysis of results from the first NGSA 2025 mock examination conducted in December 2024. Teachers were encouraged to use these results to assess both class-wide and individual pupil performance, allowing for targeted teaching strategies to address identified gaps.
The forum also provided an opportunity for the teachers to raise concerns and share insights, fostering collaboration and a shared commitment to improving outcomes.
Manickchand emphasised that the goal of such sessions is to ensure every child has the support and resources needed to succeed, stating, “The NGSA is not just an exam but a reflection of our dedication to providing equal opportunities for all learners.”
The Ministry of Education assured of its support for teachers and students as they prepare for the NGSA 2025, the release added.
