The Demerara Cricket Board (DCB) has officially announced the selection of their Under-15 squad following intense competition during the DCB Inter-Association tournament. This squad, made up of promising young cricketers, will now prepare for the highly anticipated Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) U15 Tournament later this year.

The Demerara U15 team, led by Captain Brandon Henry and Vice-Captain Patrice Fraser, features a mix of talent and potential. The squad includes Khush Seegobin, Lomar Seecharran, Nathan Bishop, Reyaz Latif, Makai Dowlin, Shahid Ramzan, Vinesh Kalpoo, Akeem Persaud, Afraz Khan, Joshua Bollers, Joshua Collette, and Thierry Davis.

Additionally, six standby players have been named: Jermaine Grovesnor, Somesh Boyer, Sourav Persaud, Joshua Williams, and Mickel Johnson. They may be called upon in case of any changes to the main squad.

In an exciting development, the Demerara U15 team will kick off their preparation for the GCB U15 competition with a challenging encounter against the East Coast Under-17 team. The match is scheduled to take place on Sunday, January 19, at the LBI Cricket Ground, starting at 9:30 AM. This friendly fixture will provide an excellent platform for both teams to showcase their skills and build match fitness ahead of the upcoming tournament. The East Coast U17 squad, captained by Arun Gainda with Marcel Nandu as vice-captain, brings a wealth of experience and talent to the field. Their lineup includes Munesh Outar, Nicholas Simon, Johnathan Vieira, Yannick Newton, Ruel Dindyal, Nicholas Boyer, Satindra Shiwdarsan, Nicholas Rukhdeo, Tyrell King, Antonio Chan, Navindra Isurdeen, Kyle Gibson, Akeem Persaud, and Devendra Ramkarran.

This match promises to be a thrilling contest, with the East Coast U17 team poised to test the abilities of the younger Demerara U15 squad. In addition to the match between Demerara U15 and East Coast U17, the DCB also announced the selection of five players for the Select XI. These players are Satindra Shiwdarsan, Jasani Craig, Junia Dindyal, Jagdesh Kalpoo, and Iaish Anderson.
