LUCAS STOCK INDEX (LSI)
The Lucas Stock Index lost 1.221 percent on the sale of 17,339 shares during the first period of trading in the year 2025. Five stocks traded during the period with zero Climbers and three Tumblers impacting on the market value. As a result, the market lost about G$9.5B in value.
The stock price of Republic Bank Limited (RBL) fell 6.522 percent on the sale of 1,401 shares while the stock price of Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (BTI) fell 0.694 percent on the sale of 50 shares. In addition, the stock price of Demerara Bank Limited (DBL) fell 0.313 percent on the sale of 1,552 shares.
In the meanwhile, the stock prices of Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) and Demerara Tobacco Company (DTC) remained unchanged on the sale of 14,171 and 165 shares respectively.
The LSI closed at 1,346.200.
