-Lovell handed senior call-up

The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) has unveiled the Guyana Harpy Eagles squad for the 2025 Cricket West Indies (CWI) Regional Four-Day Championship, entrusting the leadership to seasoned wicketkeeper-batsman Kemol Savory.

The squad, a mixture of experience and youth also features the promising young fast bowler, Thaddeus Lovell, who earns his maiden call-up to the senior national team after impressive performances across the trial matches.

Lovell, a right-arm medium-fast bowler has demonstrated potential in domestic competitions, notably with the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC).

In preparation for the championship, the Harpy Eagles had engaged in two trial matches at the Providence National Stadium. The second match, which concluded recently, was marked by notable performances despite being curtailed by rain. Junior Sinclair’s first-innings century and consistent off-spin earned him the Man-of-the-Match accolade, while veteran spinner Veerasammy Permaul showcased his enduring prowess.  These performances were instrumental in shaping the final squad selection.

Head Coach Ryan Hercules, along with his support staff, will oversee the squad’s preparation as they aim to defend their title. The Harpy Eagles are set to commence their campaign against the Barbados Pride on January 29 at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.

Additionally, the GCB has named Sachin Singh, Rampertab Ramnauth, Zeynul Ramsammy, Jonathan van Lange, Gulcharran Chulai, Sylus Tyndall and Riyad Latif as standby players.
