Potaro farmer charged with murder

Thirty-eight-year-old Bennie Charles Adams, a farmer of Campbelltown Village, Potaro, Region Eight, who was wanted for murder, has finally been apprehended by police after being on the run for 11 years.

He was arrested on Sunday for the murder of 66-year-old Gilbert Adams, a farmer of Manawarin Village, North West District, Region One. The incident occurred in 2013 at Manawarin Village, North West District.

Adams appeared via Zoom at the Acquero Magistrate’s Court, North West District, before the Magistrate Ravindra Mohabir where the charge was read to him. He was not required to plead and was remanded to prison.

The matter was adjourned to March 03 for statements.
