Minister of Home Affairs, Robeson Benn has distributed all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) to the Community Policing Groups (CPGs) in Aishalton, Leguan and Mahdia.

A release from the Ministry of Home Affairs said that this initiative aims to bolster the operational capacity of CPGs by enhancing their mobility, reducing response times, and strengthening their ability to address security concerns effectively.

The following liaison officers received the ATVs on behalf of their respective communities:

  • Everard Gome – Aishalton
  • Shanol Munroe – Mahdia
  • Dhansham Ramnarine – Leguan

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Benn highlighted the critical role of CPGs in maintaining peace and security at the grassroots level. “These ATVs will enable CPGs to respond swiftly to incidents and challenges, even in the most remote areas. This is part of our broader strategy to ensure that every citizen, regardless of location, feels safe and protected,” the Minister stated.
