Almost two months after the owner of Cyril’s Transportation Service (CTS) was involved in a shooting incident, the Guyana Police Force (GPF) has remained mum on the matter.
Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum had told Stabroek News that investigations were ongoing into the incident involving Muishankar ‘Sunil’ Persaud, the owner of CTS, who allegedly opened fire on one of his vehicles designated to transport an ExxonMobil executive.
The police had initially kept details of the December 2 incident under wraps until inquiries from Stabroek News prompted a public statement.
The ExxonMobil executive was not in the vehicle at the time of the shooting, but contracted ExxonMobil driver, Kordel Assanah, was in the vehicle, taking it to a Vlissengen Road petrol station for a fill-up. Four shots were fired at the vehicle, hitting one of the wheels, sources told Stabroek News.
