Sixty-eight special constabulary ranks graduate

The Guyana Police Force Academy, hosted a graduation and awards ceremony on Monday, honouring 68 ranks who successfully completed the Special Constabulary Course #7.

A release from the police force said that the ceremony was attended by the Director of the Academy, Woman Superintendent Sonia Herbert, Second in Command of the Special Consta-bulary, Assistant Superintendent Wallace, and Course Coordinator Sergeant Christie.

In her feature address,  Herbert commended the graduates for their perseverance and commitment, stating “Today marks a significant milestone in your lives. It is a day filled with pride and accomplishment because you have successfully completed your training, which was rigorous and has prepared you to serve your community with courage, dedication, and integrity.”

Assistant Superintendent Wallace extended a warm welcome to the new Ranks, outlining their duties within the Special Constabulary. The Special Constabulary, an auxiliary arm of the Guyana Police Force, provides vital support to the Regular Force and manages critical security details, the release said.

The ceremony also recognized outstanding performance among the graduates with special awards presented to the following individuals:

• Best Student: Woman Special Constable Pestano

• Runner-Up Best Student: Woman Special Constable Purlett

• Best Classroom Student: Woman Special Constable Bourne

• Most Improved Student: Special Constable Cort
