The National Assembly was struck by a blackout yesterday during the budget debate.
With more than an adequate power supply following the acquisition of two power ships the widespread outage underlined the continuing fragility of the transmission and distribution system.
The outage occurred at 7:44 pm as APNU+AFC Member of Parliament Natasha Singh-Lewis was starting her presentation.
Members sat in the chambers awaiting the generator at the Conference Centre to kick. It took 8 minutes.
During this period, the government was not spared, as heckles erupted.
