Man stabbed in Tiger Bay

The police are investigating a wounding incident involving Shawn Maxwell, a 39-year-old self-employed resident of Kitty, Georgetown, who was hospitalised after being stabbed at approximately 09.00 hours on Tuesday at Rosemary Lane, South Cummingsburg, Georgetown, also known as Tiger Bay.

Investigations revealed that Maxwell entered an ‘Ital’ shop located at Lot 9-10 Rosemary Lane to purchase food. There, he encountered a man who had been accused  of stealing parts from Maxwell’s trailer, which is usually parked in Tiger Bay.

An argument ensued and quickly escalated, during which the alleged thief allegedly drew a knife from his waist and stabbed Maxwell several times. The assailant then fled the scene, heading south on Rosemary Lane.

Maxwell was rushed to a city hospital where he was immediately admitted with stab wounds at the back of his neck and on his right hand. His condition is currently listed as serious.

The police are actively searching for the suspect, identified only by the name ‘Sean’, but have so far been unsuccessful in locating him.
