(Reuters) – The Venezuelan government yesterday rejected the seizure of a government aircraft by the United States, calling it ‘blatant theft’ and saying the move was illegal.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Thursday oversaw the seizure of the plane in the Dominican Republic. It is the second Venezuelan plane the United States has seized in the Dominican Republic in recent months.
Venezuela will take the “necessary actions” to denounce the seizure and demand its immediate return, the Venezuela government statement added.
