Three West Ruimveldt women charged with assault, unlawful wounding

Three women appeared  yesterday before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court charged with assault and unlawful wounding.

They pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Colleen Neblett was charged with unlawful wounding and assault. It is alleged that on January 29, at Laing Avenue, West Ruimveldt, Georgetown, she unlawfully wounded and assaulted Jewel Beeram.

Wendy Charles was charged with assault. It is alleged that on January 29, at Laing Avenue, West Ruimveldt, Georgetown, she assaulted Beeram.

Beeram was also charged with assault. It is alleged that on January 29, at Laing Avenue, West Ruimveldt, Georgetown, she assaulted Neblett, Christina Neblett, and Charles.

Upon learning that everyone involved in the incident resided in the same neighbourhood, Magistrate Azore enquired if there was anything they could do as neighbours to resolve the matter to which one of the women adamantly responded, “court is the only option!”

The women were granted bail with Beeram being placed on $35,000 bail, Neblett on $25,000 bail, and Charles on $25,000 bail.
