Kendrick Cozier of West Ruimveldt Housing Scheme appeared yesterday at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Fabayo Azore charged with unlawful wounding.
Cozier pleaded not guilty to the charge.
It is alleged that on January 31st, at West Ruimveldt, Georgetown, Cozier unlawfully wounded a 15-year-old minor.
The court heard stated that on the day in question, Kendrick’s daughter had a dispute with the complainant. Upon becoming aware of this, Cozier armed himself with a cutlass and chopped the girl about the body.
The prosecution objected to bail citing the fact that the complainant has suffered several injuries and lacerations as well as there being a possibility of witness tampering, since the accused lives near the complainant.
Kendrick however, interjected saying, “I don’t live there, I live a few streets away from them,” and when questioned by the magistrate, he gave his address as Lot 110 West Ruimveldt Housing Scheme.
Bail was refused and Kendrick remains in police custody.
The matter was adjourned to February 26.
