The body of 28-year-old Deon Baird also called ‘Edwards’, of Mainstay was discovered floating at Mainstay Resort, Region Two yesterday.
According to reports, at around 11:00 am on Mon-day, Baird left home to visit the resort, where he was seen drinking with a friend. When he failed to return home, his mother grew concerned and sent his sister, Ashan Baird, to look for him.
His sister reported that she found his clothing and sensed something was not right. The following day she continued her search and eventually spotted his body floating in Lake Mainstay.
Authorities later retriev-ed the body and transported it to the Suddie mortuary, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
Baird was due to celebrate his birthday today.
According to his sister, he was a very kind and willing person and used to work in the community as a labourer.
