The second annual Rock Auto Legends Futsal Competition got off to a thrilling start on Monday night at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue, as teams clashed in group stage action. While some teams managed to find the back of the net, others were locked in fierce defensive battles, setting the stage for an exciting tournament ahead.
The opening match saw Back Circle B edge past LA Ballers in a hard-fought 3-2 victory. Martin King led the charge for Back Circle B with a brace, while Kellon Gordon added one to secure the win. LA Ballers put up a valiant fight with goals from Joel McGarrell and David George, but they ultimately fell short.
The second match between Stabroek Ballers A and Ztekk ended in a goalless draw, with neither side able to break the deadlock despite several promising opportunities.
