Senior Minister in the Office of the President with Responsibility for Finance and the Public Service, Dr. Ashni Singh yesterday met with a mission from the World Bank’s Inter-national Development Association (IDA).
A release from the Ministry of Finance said that the mission comprised the Senior Operations Officer, Wilson Forta, and Senior Country Economist for Haiti and Suriname, Bernard Haven. The mission was led by the World Bank’s Group Resident Representative for Guyana, Diletta Doretti.
During discussions, Singh said that Guyana has utilized IDA resources and benefited from it over the years. He added that the Government strongly advocates support by all potential contributors to the next round of IDA replenishment. He also reiterated that the Government is very pleased with the ongoing engagement with the World Bank.
