Youth Basketball Guyana Challenge Series

– Marian Academy, QC advance in girl’s division

Queen’s College (QC), New Amsterdam Technical Institute (NATI), North Georgetown, and New Amsterdam Secondary secured berths to the semifinal round when the Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG) Five Challenge Series commenced yesterday.

Staged at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall on Homestretch Avenue, the quartet advanced following respective victories in the marquee division of the tournament.

Meanwhile, in the girl’s category, Marian Academy, St. Stanislaus College, and QC B will battle for the crown.

On the other hand, St. Stanislaus and Linden Technical Institute will battle for the title in the U-21 division, which is making its debut at the event.

In the U-14 division, the four semifinalists are St. Roses High, Marian Academy, Queens College, and School of the Nations.

In the U-16 section, the quartet of President’s College, New Amsterdam Secondary, Mackenzie High, and Berbice High will battle for the crown.

Meanwhile, the final round of the free throw contest will feature Hayden Saunders, Stephen George, Avion Kesney, Jonathan Gomes, Kadeem Beckles, Mekhi Ritchie, Jonathan Sooknandan, Nathan Williams, Brandon McKoy, and D. Gurrick.
