Dear Editor,
I am not on Facebook but I wish to respond to Ganesh Mahipaul’s Facebook post which was sent to me by concerned citizens. His post was unapologetically aimed at rebuking me for the exercise of my democratic right to resign from a party whose principles no longer align with mine.
There are two words I can use to describe him:
1. Ungrateful
2. Opportunistic
Let me remind him of a few things:
a. He has never spoken a good word about his so-called Leader. Rather every opportunity he criticized him openly and secretly.
b. It was he who started a negative campaign against Norton but after the departure of the previous Leader of the Opposition he gravitated to Norton because he said he wanted Norton to put him back in Parliament.
c. It was Ganesh Mahipaul who taped the previous treasurer’s conversation with his signing of the blank cheques and then in turn used it against the man to gain popularity.
d. It was Ganesh Mahipaul who initiated the Team Forde group and when he couldn’t get his way, he departed and began to give details of what transpired in that group. I know because I too was part of that group.
e. Does he recall when Carol Smith Joseph said he was sitting on BLACK votes, how upset he was and vowed that he will take revenge one day.
f. How about when he was canvassing to remove Norton as Opposition Leader, he asked Jermaine Figuera to second the motion and he refused not forgetting he couldn’t get the support from the other MP’s to get the motion passed. So, he had to abort it and profess to be a Norton diehard all because he wanted Norton to take him back in Parliament.
g. It was he who said Norton took him to Canada to show he has Indian support, but the Toronto group spearheaded by Mr. Artie Ricknauth would pressure Norton to give him recognition in a big way. Was it the Prime Ministerial Candidate?
h. It didn’t take much time to find out when some people couldn’t get a job and I was the first to step in. Who was in coma at that time? You can tell your friend, that any medical treatment I received was properly administered by certified doctors for certified complaints. Don’t stay in coma. Come alive and let the drums roll.
i. I can go on with a litany but I will stop here and hope Mahipaul provides a further opportunity for me to elaborate.
