‘One Guyana’ Basketball

Ravens, Colts, and Victory Valley Royals recorded contrasting wins when the 2025 season of the ‘One Guyana’ Basketball League continued on Sunday evening at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall on Homestretch Avenue.

Ravens extinguished Block 22 Flames of Linden by a 62-52 score. Fresh off their impressive win against Kobras in the previous matchday, the Ravens unit was led by the experienced Dominic Vicente, who scored 14 points. Chipping in with 12 points was Shamar Huntley.

For the loser, Jonathan Clarke recorded a game-high 20 points.

On the other hand, the Colts unit tamed Caimans 69-39. Errol Dryden top scored in the lopsided encounter with 19 points, while O’Quacey Shortt proved ample support with 18. On the other side, Akeem Miggins netted seven points.

Likewise, Royals dismantled Plaisance Guardians 89-40. Yannick Tappin led the rout with 24 points. He was supported by Harold Adams, who was the next best scorer with 18 points. Adding 13 points was Vibert Benjamin.

For the East Coast Demerara outfit, Trenton Woolford tallied 13 points, while Enoch Matthew netted 12 points.

The competition continues on Saturday at the same venue with another round of matches.
