At the shop, the ranks contacted Joshua Angoy, a 19-year-old porknocker from Kaneville, East Bank Demerara, and Bernard Omar, a 19-year-old labourer from Kuru Kururu. The ranks informed Yashua Angoy and Omar of their reason for being there and they allowed the ranks to conduct a search of the shop.

During the search, Police found — under the counter of the said shop — a bag containing a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis. Also under the counter, Police found a black plastic bag containing several small transparent ziplock bags with leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis.

Police took possession of the narcotics, arrested both Omar and Angoy and escorted them to the Timehri Police Station where they were placed into custody pending further investigations.
