(Trinidad Express) Four men were killed in separate incidents between Friday night and Sunday.
The most recent incident is the shooting death of a 54-year-old butcher whose body was found in the yard of his home early yesterday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Faizool Alladin of Spur Trace, Puzzle Island, Penal. Officers from the Penal Police Station responded to a report around 6.33 a.m. yesterday and found Alladin’s motionless body in the garage area of his home.
He was lying on his left side, bareback, and wearing grey long pants. Police observed apparent gunshot wounds to his body.
The scene was secured, and relatives who arrived identified the deceased.
Crime scene investigators retrieved eight spent 9mm shells, three projectiles, one fragment, and a black Samsung cellphone belonging to the deceased.
Both of the deceased’s hands were bagged for further examination.
Investigators were told Alladin lived alone.
His son told police he last spoke to his father around 10 p.m. on Saturday. Around 2.30 a.m. on Sunday, residents reported hearing several loud explosions from the direction of Alladin’s home. However, upon making checks they did not observe anything amiss.
Alladin’s body was discovered four hours later.
The home was found intact, and nothing appeared to be missing.
In the second incident, a Petit Valley man was shot and killed on Saturday afternoon after visiting his mother.
Reports indicate that around 1 p.m., 51-year-old Sherwin Mason left his mother’s home on Simeon Road, Petit Valley, stating he was heading home, which is a short distance away.
Shortly after, residents heard gunfire and found him lying on the roadway near Light Pole 71. Mason was found on the roadway, bleeding from multiple injuries.
The police and paramedics were notified, and Mason was taken to the St James Infirmary.
Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police officers, including Insp Grant, Sgt Telesford, and several homicide investigators, responded to the scene.
Crime scene personnel recovered six 9mm shell casings, two 7.62 shell casings, and five projectiles.
Police have no motive for the killing.
In the third incident, a 30-year-old labourer was shot and killed in Carapichaima on Saturday morning by persons wearing “tactical gear”.
The deceased, Ezekiel Davis, of Orange Field Road, was standing near a Lotto Booth when he was approached by two armed men who opened fire.
According to police reports, around 9.20 a.m., a red Mazda 626 stopped near Davis and an informant. One suspect, described as a muscular man, approximately six feet tall, wearing clothing resembling police tactical gear, a green mask, and a green fisherman hat, exited the vehicle carrying what appeared to be a rifle.
A second suspect, described as having a stocky build and approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, exited the driver’s seat armed with a handgun.
The first suspect engaged in a struggle with Davis before both suspects shot the victim repeatedly. Davis attempted to flee but collapsed a short distance away.
Police officers arrived at 9.50 a.m. and found him lying motionless in a pool of blood. He was unresponsive.
The area was cordoned off, and crime scene investigators recovered ten spent 9mm shells from the scene.
The victim’s body was removed and taken to the Forensic Science Centre for a post-mortem examination. Police have no motive for this killing.

In the fourth incident, a 33-year-old man was shot and killed outside his residence in Arouca on Friday night.
The deceased, Andrew Junior Miller, also known as “Drugs”, was originally from Tobago but had been staying in Arouca for work purposes.
Reports indicate that around 9.05 p.m., police responded to reports of gunfire at Ramoutar Trace, Garden Village. Upon arrival, officers found Miller’s body lying on its back with gunshot wounds to the head. His body was positioned on the western side of the road, in front of an iron gate leading to his home.
Investigators recovered four spent 9mm shells at the scene.
Preliminary enquiries revealed that Miller had left his residence sometime after 8 p.m. to purchase food, and shortly after his return, gunfire was heard.
The murder toll currently stands at 72.
