Following on from my note re your letters column, I think President Ali needs to spend some of the oil money ‘sensitising’ (a dreadful Guyanese word. People are not steaks!) the population to getting behind any rebuff to Maduro and his low level (for now) aggression over what he calls ‘Essequiba’.
Right away establish a council of PR war with the best spin doctors Guyana can provide – Kit Nascimento, Alex Graham, Wesley Kirton, Kwesi Isles and tempt Vic Insanally out of retirement. Between them they should provide much sensible advice and action points to fend off the propaganda invasion from the West. The country needs them and you.
