DCB U-17 50-Over Cricket
West Demerara and East Coast registered easy victories when the Demerara Cricket Board (DCB) U-17 Inter-Association 50-Over Championship continued yesterday.
Georgetown thrashed East Coast by 10 wickets at the Queen’s College ground on Thomas Lands. Batting first, East Coast was skittled for a paltry 69 in 19.2 overs. Yannick Newton and Marcel Nandu were the only scorers of note with 23 and 13 runs, respectively, as Dave Mohabir engineered the collapse with figures of 4-3 in five overs.
He was supported by Emmanuel Lewis, who snared 3-17 in four overs, while the duo of Kaylon Calendar and Stephon Seymour recorded one wicket apiece.

In reply, Georgetown stormed to 70/0 in 9.2 overs, as Davir Seegobin smashed 36 runs [5x4s, 2x6s] while Kishwan Silas supported with 28 [4x4s].
Over at the La Bonne Intention facility, Upper Demerara won by wickets in a reduced 35-over contest. Batting first after winning the toss, East Bank amassed 162/6 in 35 overs. Shane Shivbarran and Vinesh Kalpoo top scored with 39 runs, respectively.
Andy Ramlogan was the pick of the bowlers with 2-25, while Nicholas Simon registered 2-35. Upper Demerara in response, successfully overhauled the target, finishing on 163/4 in 34.5 overs. Lomar Seecharran, who was adjudged the man of the match in the previous encounter, ended on an unbeaten 89, which contained 13 boundaries.
Supporting with 30 runs was Nathan Bishop. Joshua Bhudram was the primary threat with the ball, following figures of 2-26.
