Pan Am Junior Hockey
Guyana recorded their first loss in the women’s division of the Pan American Junior Hockey Challenge, losing 0-6 to Mexico yesterday at the Sir Garfield Sobers Complex in Wildey, Barbados.
Fernanda Guzman breached the Guyana rearguard in the third minute while another conversion was recorded in the ninth minute as Mexico concluded the first quarter with a 2-0 advantage.

Valeria Espinoza made it 3-0 in the 23rd minute before the Guyanese conceded again three minutes later in the form of Ximena Noria.
A 5-0 deficit was then incurred in the 48th minute for Guyana as Noria completed her double, while Espinoza sealed her brace and the score-line two minutes later.
The women’s team will resume their campaign tomorrow against Puerto Rico. Meanwhile, the men’s team will return to the field today against Trinidad and Tobago.
