-suspect in custody

Fisherman Umar Muqthar Juman, called `Muggy’,  40, was found dead yesterday at Crabwood Creek, Corentyne a short distance from his home. His abdomen had a penetrative wound, from which fresh blood flowed, said his sister Nazima Juman

According to her, a friend initially related the news to her concerning her brother’s passing, after seeing a photograph on social media, just around 07:30hrs, but, she did not believe.  However, her son confirmed the sad news moments later.

When she arrived on the scene, she saw her brother bent over, near a culvert, with blood oozing from the injury. Speaking to reporters, Nazima said, “When me go, me see me brother fold up and in the culvert. When them take he out, if you see blood wah spraying out from he belly.” She is of the opinion that the incident occurred not to long before the discovery. Umar lived alone and spent long days at sea before returning home.
