A fire supposedly caused by illegal electrical wiring destroyed the home of 47-year-old Premchand Singh, at Lot 2 Public Road Plantation Foulis, West Coast Berbice, on Tuesday, according to a release from the Guyana Fire Service.
Four firefighters under the guidance of Leading Fireman Blair responded to the fire at 11:48 am, and utilized one jet working from water tender 121 tank supply to extinguish the fire. The blaze severely damaged another unfinished concrete structure owned by Singh. No injury was reported.
The Guyana Fire Service is urging citizens to desist from using illegal electricity connections.
