Rising Rounds

In the heart of Glasgow Village, East Bank Berbice, a young fighter is carving his path to greatness. Terron Wintz, now one of Guyana’s most promising boxing prospects, took up the sport at just 15.

Today, at 21 fights won out of 26, with two international titles to his name, he stands on the cusp of transitioning into senior amateur boxing – with his sights firmly set on the grandest stage of all: the Olympics.

Wintz’s talent was on full display at the 2025 Caribbean Championship in St. Lucia, where he not only won his division but also took home the Best Youth Boxer award. That victory, along with his earlier international success in Barbados, signalled that Guyana has a future champion in the making.
