Candidate Master (CM) Taffin Khan clinched the Guyana Chess Federation (GCF) National Blitz Crown, beating FIDE Master (FM) Anthony Drayton in dramatic fashion at the Exhibition Centre of the Pegasus Suites and Corporate Centre, Kingston.
This was disclosed in a press release from the GCF. According to the correspondence, CM Khan battled through 16 rounds to finish ahead of FM Anthony Drayton after their encounter ended in a tie following the conclusion of the two games. This sent the match into the Armageddon Round, where Khan eventually prevailed.
“The Drayton/Khan match for the championship ended in high drama, where at the end of 2 games, the players were tied at one point each, triggering the Armageddon Round.
